Terms and conditions
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms explain how Brighton Postcard Club subscriptions, gift subscriptions and individual postcard orders work. Please read them before placing an order. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
1. About us
Brighton Postcard Club is operated by Jacy Wilkes, trading as PHOTOJACY.
Customer service, subscription cancellations and other enquiries: jacywilkes@gmail.com.
Business geographical address: To be provided in the legally required pre-contract information before orders are accepted. No postal address is published on this page at present.
2. What we sell
We offer subscriptions featuring three different art postcard designs each month, showcasing work by independent artists connected with Brighton. We may also sell individual postcards and other items separately where listed on our website.
Artwork and packaging shown in promotional materials are illustrative unless identified as the confirmed designs for a particular collection. Colours and print finishes may vary slightly between screens and printed postcards. We will supply the product described at the time of purchase.
3. Subscription plans and prices
- Monthly: £6.50 per month for three postcards each month; renews automatically until cancelled.
- Six months: £35 paid upfront for six monthly deliveries (18 postcards); does not renew automatically.
- Twelve months: £65 paid upfront for twelve monthly deliveries (36 postcards); does not renew automatically.
Standard UK postage is included in these prices. We currently ship within the UK only. Any future price change will be communicated before it applies to an ongoing monthly subscription; changes to prepaid purchases will not be applied retrospectively.
Monthly recurring payments are scheduled to be requested on the 1st of every month, through SumUp. Payment processing times may vary. See section 9 for cancellation instructions.
4. Pre-orders and the January 2027 launch
Subscriptions sold before launch are pre-orders. The first subscription collection is planned for January 2027, with subsequent collections sent monthly during the subscription term.
For payments taken for a monthly collection, we aim to dispatch the postcards on the day after payment has cleared. If this falls on a non-working day, dispatch will be on the next working day. For prepaid six- and twelve-month plans, the dispatch timing for later monthly collections will be confirmed before launch, as there is no further monthly payment to clear.
We will confirm orders by email and communicate the anticipated dispatch period. If we cannot meet a stated delivery date, we will contact you about your options and any applicable right to cancel or receive a refund.
5. Placing orders and payment
Please provide accurate contact and UK delivery details. We may contact you to resolve an issue with your order. We will confirm acceptance of your order by email or dispatch.
Payments are processed by SumUp. We do not receive your full card details. For monthly subscriptions, recurring payment requests are scheduled for the 1st of each month. If we cannot accept or fulfil an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid.
6. Gift subscriptions
Six- and twelve-month subscriptions can be purchased as gifts. The purchaser must provide the correct recipient's name and UK delivery address and have an appropriate basis for sharing those details.
Physical gift certificates are provided for gift subscriptions purchased at markets. Digital gift certificates are emailed for online gift orders. The subscription postcards themselves begin with the specified first monthly collection, not when the certificate is given.
Prepaid gift subscriptions end after the purchased number of monthly deliveries and do not renew automatically. Recipient details are handled as explained in our Privacy Policy.
7. Delivery
Dispatch: Where a payment is due for that month, postcards are normally dispatched the day after the payment clears, or the next working day if necessary. Dispatch is not the same as delivery; postal transit times vary. For prepaid plans, subsequent monthly dispatch dates will be confirmed before launch.
We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. Standard UK postage is included in the advertised subscription price; international shipping is not available.
Dispatch estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly agreed. If a delivery is missing, damaged or incorrect, please email jacywilkes@gmail.com with the order details.
We remain responsible for goods until delivered to you or a person you nominate to receive them, subject to applicable consumer law.
8. Changing addresses and managing subscriptions
To change a delivery address, or ask about your subscription, email jacywilkes@gmail.com, including the name and email address used for your order. We will try to apply address changes before dispatch but cannot redirect items already posted.
For monthly subscription cancellations, see section 9. Please notify us of address changes as soon as possible, ideally before the payment for the relevant month is requested.
9. Your right to cancel
Cooling-off rights for online orders
Consumers who purchase online generally have a statutory 14-day right to cancel qualifying goods contracts. For regular deliveries of goods over a defined period, the cancellation period generally runs from the day after the first delivery is received by you or your nominated recipient. For a single delivery, it generally runs from the day after receipt. Legal exceptions may apply, including for certain genuinely personalised goods.
To exercise a statutory cancellation right, email jacywilkes@gmail.com with a clear cancellation request. You can use the optional form below, but do not have to. We will provide any refund due in accordance with consumer law.
Monthly subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically, with the next recurring payment scheduled to be requested on the 1st of each month. To cancel, email jacywilkes@gmail.com, giving your name and the email address associated with your subscription, and state that you wish to cancel. We will confirm cancellation by email. A valid cancellation stops future renewals, subject to any payment already due or processed before cancellation.
Cancellation notice: Please give at least five working days' notice before the next scheduled payment on the 1st of the month to ensure cancellation before that payment is requested. Email jacywilkes@gmail.com with your name and the email address associated with the subscription. Requests received later will still be processed promptly, but a payment already requested or processed may not be stopped. This notice period does not affect your statutory cancellation or refund rights.
Prepaid six- and twelve-month subscriptions
These plans are one-off purchases and do not renew automatically. For requests to end a prepaid subscription early after any applicable statutory cooling-off period, contact us by email. Any refund will depend on the circumstances and your legal rights; nothing in these terms limits remedies for faulty, missing, misdescribed or undelivered goods.
10. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
We want your postcards to arrive in good condition. If anything is damaged, faulty, missing or not as described, contact us with your order details and, if possible, a photograph. We will deal with the issue in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable law. Your statutory rights are not restricted by any returns policy.
11. Artwork and intellectual property
Copyright in the artwork remains with its respective creators or other rights holders. Buying a postcard gives you ownership of the physical card, not permission to reproduce, distribute commercially or otherwise exploit the artwork. The website's text, branding and design are also protected where applicable.
Participating artists' reproduction rights and royalty arrangements are governed by separate agreements with us and are not changed by these customer terms.
12. Changes to the service
We may make reasonable changes to future collections, participating artists, presentation or packaging while preserving the essential subscription offering of three different art postcards per monthly delivery. If a change materially affects an existing order, we will explain the change and any cancellation or refund rights that apply.
13. Our responsibility
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or your statutory consumer rights.
14. Privacy
We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Complaints and governing law
For customer service, complaints and cancellations, email jacywilkes@gmail.com.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without depriving consumers elsewhere in the UK of mandatory protections. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases. The terms applicable to an existing order will not be changed retrospectively without a lawful basis and, where required, your agreement. The date at the top shows when this page was last updated.
Optional model cancellation form
You may use this form to cancel, but an email clearly stating your decision is sufficient:
